A vest for my boy

A while ago a knitting buddy had a de-stash and I picked up this lovely bundle of Mosaic Moon worsted yarn at a bargain price. I thought I had written about it but I didn’t. *shock* I found it today and I am going to make my son Elias a Charlie vest.

This is my lovely wool, such pretty colours !!

My pretty Lagoon wool

I’m knitting this using a 4mm circular and using some stunning wool from Never Ending Obsessions called Lagoon. It’s a DK Superwash. It is only 100grams and 246 Yards… I hope it’s enough o_0 otherwise it’s 3/4 sleeves hahahhaa

Here we go…..

FINALLY I have finished with the increases and now it’s onto the main body of the Cardi…

Progress shot

Progress shot

Finished this a while ago but without home internet I was unable to update ARGHHHH

This was a fun little project and I learnt how to cast on from a raw edge and continue knitting from it which was good. It’s great to learn more.

Here is my Baby Vertebrae ๐Ÿ™‚

Almost finished.

Almost finished.

WOOOHOOOO I did IT !! I love this =D Can't wait to see baby wearing it.

I love this =D Can’t wait to see baby wearing it.

I really loved this project. Be sure to check it out on Ravelry.

I want to knit this. Baby Sunshine !

I am absolutely in love with this beautiful baby snuggle from Ravelry.com. It’s called Baby Sunshine and I think it’s GLORIOUS !! ย Check it out HERE

I have to buy some long circulars before I can knit up some large projects so this one is on hold until then. I hope to have some soon because this is one knit I MUST have for when baby is born. It’s so pretty and I can already imagine my little babe snuggled up underneath it ๐Ÿ™‚

I WILL make this !

Don't you just LOVE it !!

16th January. casting on….

I’m going to make this gorgeous little hat called Mahunga and you can buy it HERE from Ravelry.com

SO CUTE !!! Mahunga from ravelry.com

I’m almost positive I should have just enough yarn left from my Hungry Little Caterpillar wool to knit this. I’m going to give it a go. Otherwise I will use the rim in one colour and the main part of the hat in the caterpillar colourway.

Here we go …

And FINISHED with wool left over hahaha I am glad I made this. I had a little help from the designer Kelly Brooker on one of my new favourite wool pages Forest Hill Hand Dyed Yarn

Knitting away in the middle of the night in this photo but I like progress shots so i’ll put it on here

I’m very pleased with this hat, the pattern gives you a few different ways to finish your project so you can personalise it to the lucky receiver you are knitting for.

Here’s my hat ๐Ÿ™‚

15th January. Casting on..

I received some very very beautiful wool in the post yesterday so now i’m very much spoilt for choice on what to make.

I am knitting this pattern in The Very Hungry Caterpillar wool from Never Ending Obsessions

here we go !!!

8 hours later and I’m finished !! I couldn’t put this one down. I love working from the bottom up it was so much easier to navigate the arm holes. I’m going to make another one of these vests for sure.

I love the look of the arms here. Such simple details. I’m sure the next time I knit this it will look neater though ๐Ÿ™‚

And the hem of the vest is made so that it doesn’t roll up which is a great thing in my book.

And finally. The finished vest =D ย I LOVE the colourway of this yarn. It was so cheerful to use and oh so very soft.

So fun ! why not give it a go.

2 in 1 easy swaddler

This swaddler is a great idea for them cold winter nights when you want baby toasty warm. None of my boys have ever liked being swaddled so I have decided I will not add the “wings” to this pattern. They have always enjoyed their arms free out of the blankets so I will wait to see how our new little one enjoys to sleep before I knit the remaining part of this pattern. This pattern is from ravelry.com and you can buy it for $4.00 HERE

Kicking Sack

My next project is a Le Sacque Jacquard Kicking Sack from Ravelry.com and you can buy the pattern HERE for $2.99

Le Sacque Jacquard Kicking Sack

This was a nice fast knit with plenty of practice on ribbing and knit stitch. I enjoyed it and knowing how handy it will be once baby comes I am definitely going to make more. I wasn’t ready to try to alternate colours like the original so I did it all in Pumpkin Luxury wool from Bendigowoollenmills.com.au

I did not make many mistakes with this sack, A mistaken stitch here and there but that’s about it. My confidence is growing by the day !
