A vest for my boy

A while ago a knitting buddy had a de-stash and I picked up this lovely bundle of Mosaic Moon worsted yarn at a bargain price. I thought I had written about it but I didn’t. *shock* I found it today and I am going to make my son Elias a Charlie vest.

This is my lovely wool, such pretty colours !!

This is my FIRST time making a larger kid sized project so we’ll see how I go and if I get bored hehe I will update you as I go πŸ™‚

Milo vest

I adore these quick little vests. Not only are they super fast to knit but they look so delightful !!

This still needs blocking but this is my latest one for Master Ali. I used a gorgeous olive/pine green wool from Ewe Give Me The Knits to make it. I currently have a Mahunga hat being made to go with it now.

I’m thinking to make one of these for my big boy. But there are a couple of other vests I am considering also. I’m ready to tackle larger sized projects now I think.

I’m back

I am sorry I have been absent of late, Life became so busy so very fast ! It’s a whirlwind of new baby needs. Nappy changes, breastfeedings, baths and rocking to sleep. And in this busy house of many you can imagine how overwhelming it all can be. My depression kicked in strongly after baby Ali’s delivery and it was such a hard battle to get myself back to the almost happy place I was in beforehand but i’m finally back on track.

I did not pick up the knitting needles in a very long time. I have now, and I feel newly invigorated by it. I have bought some GORGEOUS new yarn from some wonderful ladies and cannot wait to get myself into some new projects.

I have also made myself determined to learn to crochet also. This is proving to be quite challenging for me but I will persist.

Here are some of my knits on my gorgeous new squishy. He was born over 4kgs so sadly many things do not fit him. I’m sure I will find a new home for them so all is not lost πŸ™‚

here we go !!!

8 hours later and I’m finished !! I couldn’t put this one down. I love working from the bottom up it was so much easier to navigate the arm holes. I’m going to make another one of these vests for sure.

I love the look of the arms here. Such simple details. I’m sure the next time I knit this it will look neater though πŸ™‚

And the hem of the vest is made so that it doesn’t roll up which is a great thing in my book.

And finally. The finished vest =D Β I LOVE the colourway of this yarn. It was so cheerful to use and oh so very soft.
